Fran always knew that her father, and her uncles, had served as part of the American military during WWII in the Philippines.

 

What she did not know was the extent of that service and the promises the American government made to her courageous father and uncles, and to more than 400,000 other Filipinos and Filipino-Americans for their service. 

 

In Valor, Fran shares with us her journey into uncovering the loyalty and the bravery the Filipino-American Veterans showed in fighting for the United States, knowing that when the war was over they would be honoured with American citizenship; a promise the American government ultimately refused to honour.
