The Plot:

Andrea Perez wants to marry Sylvester Davis in their local Catholic Church. But when they go to get their marriage license, they are denied. "Why?" Though Andrea is an American of Mexican descent, on her birth certificate it states she is 'white.' Sylvester is black. In California, in 1947, it is against the law for a white person to marry a black person.

Andrea and Sylvester will not stand for this. It will change America for ever.
